Spartanburg Cemetery

At the north edge of Spartanburg, this beautiful cemetery is very old.  Many pioneers, including Ephriam Bowen, are buried here.  His mother-in-law, Catherine Baird Hale was probably the earliest death in the area but her grave-site is unknown.  Revolutionary War Veteran, Christopher Borders is buried here.  Memorial dedicated to the memory of all soldiers and sailors living and dead who served the United States in any of its wars was erected in 1931, it is a field stone structure.
